After a very rainy weekend, we were not sure if the Carter S. Martin Charity Golf Tournament at Crystal Lake Golf Club was going to take place today. Thankfully the rains cleared out and this tremendous effort to raise money for cancer research moved forward. Premier Building Systems, Inc. President, Scott Philips along with long time employee Danny Garrett were paired with two representative from Bay Insulation to participate. The funds paid by each foursome, and for other great sponsorship opportunites, all went to aid in the fight against cancer. Carter S. Martin, who was 7 years old fought a 20-month battle with Ewing’s sarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer. Because this young man truly believed that one day a cure would be found others have continued on in his name to find a cure through the Carter S. Martin Experimental Therapy Research Fund of the Aflac Cancer Center at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
