Wrestling Icon Ric Flair® The Nature Boy® to be Grand Marshall of Zaxby’s SpeedFest 2014

 

Salem, IN (January 15, 2014) – Champion Racing Association Powered by JEGS officials have announced wrestling icon Ric Flair The Nature Boy, will be the Grand Marshall for the Zaxby’s SpeedFest 2014, which will be held on Saturday, January 25th and Sunday, January 26th at Watermelon Capital Speedway located in Cordele, Georgia.

 

Flair will be part of the Zaxby’s SpeedFest 2014 pre-race festivities on Sunday, January 26th, where he will be greeting fans and signing autographs.

 

"Looking forward to seeing the fans at SpeedFest, and serving as the Grand Marshall at Watermelon Capital Speedway that Sunday. I’m ready to watch some great racing and cheer on my buddy, David [Ragan] on his home track. Hope to see you kids out there! WOOOOO!™", said Flair.

 

The flamboyant wrestling legend will join with NASCAR Sprint Cup racers David Ragan, Jeff Burton, Joe Nemechek and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series competitor Johnny Sauter and all the driver competing in the SpeedFest 200 ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS Super Late Model event and the Chevrolet Performance125 JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Pro Late Model event in an on track autograph session beginning at 12:30pm on Sunday.

Flair is not only a professional wrestler but, a worldwide celebrity. He is among the most famous and well-known wrestlers in the world, and has been one of wrestling's biggest stars since the late 1970s. Flair was often popular with the crowd due to his in-ring antics, including rule breaking (earning him the distinction of being "the dirtiest player in the game"), his cocky interview style, strutting and his shouting of WOOOOO! The WOOOOO! yell has since become a tribute to Flair, and is often shouted by the crowd whenever they see Ric or when another a wrestler performs one of Flair's signature moves.

 

Ric Flair is recognized by World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and Pro Wrestling Illustrated (PWI) as a 16-time World Champion (WCW), he also had two stints as a Heavyweight Champion, although his actual tally of World Championship reigns varies by source – some totaling as high as 21. Flair also won the 1992 Royal Rumble and the WWE Intercontinental Championship.

 

The Zaxby’s SpeedFest 2014 will consist of a 200 lap ARCA/CRA Super Series Super Late Model special non-points event and a 125 lap JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance Pro Late Model special non-points event. The Speedfest 200 for the ARCA/CRA Super Series will have a break at lap 100 and will count yellow flag laps up to lap 175. The Chevrolet Performance 125 for JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Pro Late Models will be a four tire only event and will count yellow flag laps up to lap 100.
