Challenge
The company’s decision to begin offering EHouses meant it needed more space than its existing facility offered. ICS/ElectriCON USA leadership knew that a move to any new location would come with a host of logistical, regulatory, and design challenges, all on top of the financial cost.
Solution
Fortunately, the perfect property was available in a business park where a sister company (Engineered Software Products) already was located. Previous familiarity with local building codes and regulations was a big time saver. ICS/ElectriCON USA Principal Jeff Patenaude says they knew from the start that to meet zoning standards they would use prefabricated construction, with either concrete or steel materials and a brick facade, for their new warehouse-sized building.
After receiving several estimates, the company chose Premier Building Systems to build its new home. Being in the business of building prefabricated steel EHouses meant ICS/ElectriCON USA already knew a thing or two about the benefits of metal buildings. According to Patenaude, what set Premier apart from the competition was its competitive bid and overall personality fit.

Premier worked closely with ICS/ElectriCON USA to create the perfect layout for the new building by presenting a variety of plans, using 3D views and drawings that included helpful details like elevations to illustrate each option.
Patenaude praised Premier’s regular communication throughout the job. He noted that there were no major surprises and that any setbacks were promptly addressed. The build moved forward smoothly and ended on time and on budget.
Results
Six years on since the build took place, Patenaude confirms that Premier delivered a well-built, quality building that’s allowed ElectriCON USA to meet its growing business needs. The new facility not only provided the room necessary to manufacture and construct EHouses, it was big enough to install a crane to assist with loading and off-loading the structures which has led to a significant increase in labor efficiency.
After the building was complete, the company added an HVAC system. Patenaude reports that, thanks to the exceptionally well-insulated nature of the building, they’ve experienced improved energy efficiency and resultant cost savings.
Future Outlook
With one eye always fixed ahead, ElectriCON USA purchased a large enough lot that they would have room for future expansion. When they decided to add a new cement slab to serve as a construction lot in early 2025, Patenaude didn’t hesitate to contact Premier Building Systems!
